This isn’t anything bitchy or mean, there are just some words that I think as adults should be outlawed from being typed or being said. I’m sure y’all will NOT agree with me, but what can I say I’m pretty anal about it.

If only I could get everyone on board though, I would live in a harmonious world minus the most annoying words and phrases EVER used by adults.

So without further ado….

1. “Squeee”

What the hell is a squee? And why are you squee(ing)? Can you even squee? Is it short for squeal and if so please god don’t squeal. My girls they are 9 and 5 squeal. That should be the largest hint why you should NOT.

2. “Oh, Snap!”

I’m pretty sure Raven (That’s so Raven) coined this ridiculous phrase. First, that show was on Disney Channel. I love me some Disney and Disney Channel but I honestly don’t think adults should be using coined terms by a popular CHILDREN show.

3. “KTHXBAI”

This is the text term for a snarky way of saying fuck off. While I enjoy snark and I know A TON of people who use this phrase, I think since we are adults we should just say FUCK OFF.

4. “Guru, Savvy, Pro, Expert, Influtential” (After these phrases PLEASE insert Social Media)

Why are these annoying and why do I think we as adults should quit using them? Because someone who is nitwit just started a twitter and on their bio they put Social Media Guru. They only have 5 followers and 1 tweet. That tweet says “Hm, how does this twitter thing work?”.  Nowadays everyone is greatly knowledgeable about social media. Want to know my adult knowledge on it? Login. Type. Hit Enter. (Do that make me a pro?)

Last but not least….

5. “Inappropriate”

Really. What’s inappropriate? And who makes up these rules exactly? What you deem OK may not be OK to me…so does that mean I get to tag it with that might word inappropriate. How about this…mind your own business and we wouldn’t be having this discussion. Didn’t your parents teach you that?

I got bored the other day and decided to get in touch with my very small inner crafter. Tristan has this black armoire that matches her desk and bed. While those are the ONLY three black pieces of furniture in her room it all actually goes nicely.

Most of her room though is pinks, yellows, purples etc. Some pastel and some bold colors but it all flows. Well I went to the store and bought these:

I want to say they are only about 5 bucks most. I bought them at Wal-Mart so they are not hard to find at all.

I was working with this:

Before I started my QUICK  project, I washed this down with just soap and water. And then wiped it dry prior to placing the stickers.

This is the final project.

Fun right?! I think I am going to get a couple different door handles to dress it up just a bit more!

Best part is the kids can help do this so easily!

If had the free money to give myself a complete and total makeover, would I do it? Yes, of course.  I have had kids and the fact that I am in my late twenties – well not everything is up, tight and right!

I am happy with myself and am working on my goals to lose weight and eat healthy. Is it an overnight process? No way!  It’s something that is a challenge and I work at everyday!

Either way, number one thing I would like, a breast augmentation. And not a full one. Just a little perky lift would be great! I mean I’ve breastfed, three kids, gravity – I don’t need them HUGE.

Would you ever get one done?

And the other thing I would get, would be tons of skin work done on my face. After years (and still now) battling acne – my skin shows it. While I have learned to keep my acne under control, I would like to have the years of acne that show on my face to be gone!

So if you could get a mommy makeover what would you get done?

So Saturday night in The Big Easy after experiencing the whole “sloshed on Bourbon St” (which means rain + alcohol both) we headed back to the Prince Conti Hotel. I was sitting on the floor laughing or something (probably fell off the bed I’m sure) and was moving clothes etc around in my bags. Just so happens that my bra and red boy short panties were on the chair next to me. My BFF Kas (Southern Bella’s Ways To Save) was telling a story and apparently the bra/panties caught her attention AND she thought it was a pirate hat. Yes she obsessed with Disney and she obviously drank a little too much. We laughed about this for a good thirty minutes until I decided to go ahead and throw it on. You know wear the “pirate hat” in a drunken haze.

So alas, I’m just going to have to go with it’s not a pirate hat but a drunken WTF hat.

Brent is pretty good about not being picky with what he uses to wash his hair and body down in the shower. He normally uses mine, even if it smells pretty, but I try to keep the “man” smelling stuff for when he gets home. The ONLY thing he is picky about is his razors, shaving cream and deodorant. Can’t really blame the guy.

So I know someone once blogged about this, or did a video about this but have you ever seen those automatic toilet cover things in public restrooms? I wanted to get a picture or video of it when I was in the New Orleans airport, but I think the other patrons of the restroom might have been a bit disturbed. And I have been in a TON of public restrooms and so far New Orleans is the only one I have seen it in. Have you seen it any other ones?

I know what y’all are thinking, that I am a bit possessed with toilets but honestly, you just wave your hand over this green sensor on the wall and voila – fresh toilet seat cover. The coolest invention EVER!

The beginning of Bloggers on Bourbon was a whirlwind of a trip. I left Arizona at midnight basically, stopped over in Atlanta at 3 am (Arizona time) and arrived giddy in New Orleans by 7 am (Arizona time). I was EXHAUSTED but I was so excited that my exhaustion was put on the back burner. That day Kas (Southern Bella’s Ways To Save) and I explored the city until we landed at Bourbon St. Blues Company for a rest, drinks and to chill. We met up with Tara (Global Resort Homes) and began the bonding process with such an amazing PR Rep.

After we were able to get into our room and get ready. We had to look FANTASTIC for our FANTASTIC dinner at Harrah’s Casino in New Orleans. They actually treated us to a magnificent dinner (I got the surf and turf – YUM!) at Besh Steakhouse.

After dinner thanks to Lingerie.com we got to go on a FUN (slightly humid, ha!) ghost tour! It was so neat hearing all the history behind the buildings on the French Quarter, but when one of your awesome hosts tells you to wear appropriate shoes, don’t wear flip flops.

After the ghost tour we hit Bourbon. Even if we looked a hot mess we hit it up!

My best friend and I always have said that when we are about sixty we want to live in a plantation home, drink mimosas on our wrap around porch and gossip about everyone is a small Georgia town that we will be living in. Saturday’s festivities at Bloggers on Bourbon brought us to the Houmas House. We arrived their via a nice bus trip sponsored by Community Coffee. Which if you are wondering, is the best coffee (judged by Brent and myself…let me take a sip of it real quick.) Anyway – we arrive and are greeted by the lovely Shannon Lane from Traveling Mamas.  We sip on our ever tasty mimosas and I begin to envision my life living here,

Isn’t it marvelous? Well as we stand and wait just a few minutes a breath of southern air saunters up and what do you know, it’s our tour guide.

We are then brought through the most amazing home for a very detailed tour. The tour guide was phenomenal with how she told about the house, her mannerisms and more. It was such a outstanding day.

We were then treated to the most FABULOUS lunch sponsored by Global Resort Homes. And after lunch we mingled, took a group picture,

Then headed back to the house and were treated to a very tasty drink thanks to Firefly Vodka. Afterward we headed back into the French Quarter where we would enjoy the BEST dinner thanks to OpenSky and Collective Bias.  We ate here,

The dinner was oh so fabulous and we looked oh so fabulous!

And THEN…..we went out look HOT, running in the rain, drank and danced the last night away.

What happens when the kids have a camera, a Santa Claus hat and the “perfect” pose?

My hair for the most part is very versatile. I can do pretty much anything to it and it will stick. But when my hair is in humid weather, like when I attended Bloggers on Bourbon, it tend to like to poof and frizz A LOT.

So when it comes to various hairstyles in tricky weather there is a couple things I absolutely need. For instance to pull off this type of hairstyle,

I am obviously going to do my research and read up on various Titanium Flat Iron Reviews to find the one that gives my hair the sleek and straight look that I want. With the flat iron, I get the perfect relaxed look that  can still be dressed up for a laid back night with friends and cocktails.

As I just mentioned it can be easily played up with clips, head bands or just a simple pony tail to go along with any outfit or look you are wanting to attempt. Of course that particular picture was taken in Arizona, so I didn’t have to deal with the frizz, poof or over done look that the humidity can cause.

Now when you run into problems, like humidity you want to remember to go less on conditioners and frizz battling hair products. It will only give you a very greasy type of look. Hairspray is good but do your research on those to make sure they it won’t “melt” away with the humidity.

But for Bloggers on Bourbon, after checking out a Karmin Salon Pro Review I was able to find the right fit to obtain a classy hairstyle with still having a bit of body to it,

With this one, I did a half up and half down look. I off course used a bump it, to give me the oomph at the top, but used the iron to give me a bit of a wavy look. The flat iron was able to straighten it to rid my hair of the extra frizz but give it a bit of a wavy texture to dress it up a bit!
