Win & Give W/ Betty Crocker*closed*

Brent and I are always attempting to teach our children to help others. Whether it be helping someone in school or helping each other as siblings. Brent is probably a much stronger advocate on this as his heart is sometimes to large for his chest and pours out in every way possible. Well MyBlogSpark along with Betty Crocker was helping me to spread information and learn more about giving to others.

Win_and_Give_logo2Information provided my MyBlogSpark:

Each day from now through May 30, 2010, one laptop prize will be awarded to a U.S. winner. For every laptop won, one laptop will be donated to an African child through One Laptop per Child, an organization that creates educational opportunities for the world’s poorest children by providing each child with a rugged, low-cost, low-power connected laptop with content and software designed for collaborative, joyful, self-empowered learning. For your chance to win, simply enter the unique online code printed on participating Betty Crocker Fruit Flavored Snack packages on www.WinOneGiveOne.com.

By entering into my contest you will also so receive 2 boxes of fruit snack yourself!

Who doesn’t love the fruit snacks and I ended up having to hide them from my kids so they wouldn’t eat them all in one sitting. But I had them help enter the codes online and it super simple and wanted to thank MyBlogSpark and Betty Crocker for letting me participate and in turn donating $25 towards this cause.

How Do You Win Your Own Fruit Snacks in addition to $25 being donated to One Laptop Per Child:

Contest Ends 3/15/2010 @ 11:59 PM EST. Valid email address must be provided.

Main Entry: Tell me one way you encourage your kids to help others.

With our 2 year old grandson we are just starting with the basics – please & thank-you. The 5 year old is learning by helping her brother do things while they play. She is also loves helping out with the cooking and helping when we go shopping.

I have my son help the senior citizens in the neighborhood. He helps take out trash, do yard work, whatever they need help with. He recently had surgery to remove a tumor from his leg. He got several get well cards from all of the neighbors he has helped. He was so surprised they remembered him. It made him feel really special.

Last weekend, our community had a Carepackage drive for Haiti- all the kids pitched in- it was an experience to be remembered. Young and old were there, packing boxes, chatting, and not a video game or TV in sight.
