My Hummingbird Feeder Journey

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of topfillfeeders.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am no hummingbird or bird feeder expert but I do like them. On a beautiful day I like to open my doors and windows, let the fresh air come in and listen to the sounds outside – including the birds. Just the other morning Brent and I heard the birds and they actually sounded quite pissed. Probably fighting over something or rather who knows – but we got a good laugh out of it. Well I got the chance to try out what has been deemed as one of the best hummingbird feeder‘s around.

So I read the directions, put it all together and set out on my journey to get the Hummingbirds humming and flitting about my yard!

IMG00013-20100303-0944Pretty cute huh? Well there was one issue I had with it. In Arizona there aren’t a lot of trees. Read: just a bush here and there. And the one or two trees that we do have have maybe one limb. So I had to search out my house  for a string of some sorts to tie it up in the tree. But once it got up there and I did my acrobatic stunt to get it hung – it hung beautifully and we’ve already had one or two hungry little hummingbird’s getting a drink .

IMG00014-20100303-0950This particular hummingbird feeder, which if expense is an issue don’t worry, there are hummingbird feeders starting at $11 (not bad!) is part of a revolutionary line with top fill technology. The top fill technology makes it easier to fill which = less mess! And hey anything that lessens a mess in this house is a priority to check out around here. Do you want to have fun and learn more about the top fill technology? Check out this game and just a little note (the top three scorers have a chance at winning their own hummingbird feeder!) – Top Fill Challenge.

Now go dear friends, play the game or go buy yourself a hummingbird feeder to add a little hum to your yard!

How awesome! I was thinking of hanging a bird feeder in the back- not necessarily a hummingbird one- we actually get a good number of hummingbirds here, so that may be worth doing.

I love that feeder. Humingbirds amaze me. They are so tiny. I would have hurt myself putting it up so high. Thanks for the review.

I think this is a great idea. And it’s good for the kids to interact with nature and do something constructive with their time outside. I think it would be awesome to listen and watch the birds interact with the feeder too. Would make for great pictures. Thanks for sharing. We have thought about getting a feeder this summer. Thanks.

I am so tired that when I first read the title, I thought it said “My Hummingbird Feeder JEWELRY”. And I envisioned someone sitting there with a hummingbird feeder bracelet and birds dancing around her, ala Snow White. (You gotta admit, that would be pretty cool.)

But back to reality: I love hummingbirds and get quite a few of them in my yard, so a feeder is definitely on my list. Love that this feeder is so inexpensive!

When I lived in California, we had a tree that seemed to attract hummingbirds right outside my kitchen window. I LOVED watching them.
