He’s Home

Brent has made it home, finally. Three months is a long time and we’ve never gone that long with him being gone away at work. Ever. We were both on the verge of breakdown. But now that he is home there are ways to tell that he is home.

The first day was loud, obnoxious and kids were screaming instead of talking.

Yesterday he literally let me sleep all day and woke me up long enough to go grocery shopping and play on the internet a little.

This morning he wakes me up singing to me at 2 am.

I’m pretty sure the air conditioner is on even if it is 54 degrees outside.

Today he is playing video games with the kids and none of us are dressed at 10 am.

The internet kept going in and out and my only means of escaping the chaos is mocking me by doing this.

Our conversations have consisted of -

Me: Brent will you do this for me?

Brent: Yes.

Me: Thank you

Brent: Now you must tell me how I am magical, brilliant, strong and the greatest man to walk the earth.

Me: Where is a sharpie?

Brent: Why?

Me: I need to gauge my eyeballs out….now.

But really I love him being home. I do. But holy crap he’s running me out of steam already.

I’m glad he’s home for you and the kids. Hope his work is closer to home next time so he could at least be home on the weekends.

I had to laugh at this. My husband has never been gone that long but when he does go away on a business trip or something, I miss him and then when he gets home, I’m like “so, when is your next business trip?”

Right now, he’s on vacation from work and while I love him to death, I’m seriously wondering how I’m going to make it to New Year’s with my sanity intact.
